8400 kg paddy was seized under the special operation under the leadership of ASI Pratap Singh, Nand Kishore, Uday Singh and ASI Harendra Singh of SSB 52nd Corps Ambari Company. The seized paddy was being sent to Nepal through tractor trolley. Assistant Commandant Sandeep Arya posted in Ambari Company said that during secret information and Naka duty, every item being brought from India to Nepal and from Nepal to India is being seized for the purpose of smuggling. Every visitor is being investigated. He said that smugglers are trying to carry out smuggling of food grains these days and the soldiers on duty are continuously seizing the goods. He said that on Monday morning, 8400 kg paddy in 210 sacks was seized near pillar number 157/1 of the India-Nepal border. All the sacks were loaded on the trolley. Which was being sent to Nepal by tractor for the purpose of smuggling.
The tractor used in smuggling, whose registration number was BR 38 G 5871, was taken into custody at the spot along with the trolley. The detained tractor driver, 37-year-old Imtiyaz, father of Amil, is said to be a resident of Sonapur village of Sikti police station area. A seizure list of the seized paddy has been prepared and handed over to Forbesganj Customs.
